    F.A.Q.

Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about Pastor Jim and PastorJimMarshall.com If you have a question, please email him at pastorjimmarshall.com, and maybe he will put your question up here too!

How long have you been in Christian Ministry?

    "Thirty-six years; since 1972."

What are some jobs you have had in that time?

"I was a Missionary, a Missions Executive, a Youth Pastor, a Minister of Music, an Associate Pastor and a Senior Pastor.

Wow! You've lived all over the place!

Yes. Just since joining the Ministry I've lived in four different states and three different countries. I have seen people from all different walks of life. I currently live in Columbus, Georgia.

How many of churches have you pastored?

As a Senior Pastor I have led five churches, and I founded a church in Nairobi, Kenya, as a Missionary. (check out Good Shepherd Church in Nairobi)

    What about your family?

I have been married to my wife Marg for 34 years (35 in June). I have four adult children.

What is your favorite book in the Bible, and why?

My favorite book is Phillipians, because it's short (which fits my attention span) and it's a great mental health book. My favorite verse comes from there as well.

    What's that?

Phillipians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Talk about an uplifting message!

Who's your favorite Biblical Hero? (And you can't say Jesus!)

I'd have to say Barnabus. This is a guy that made his mark upon Christianity. He was a "sold out" Christian. He sold a field and gave the money to help support the disciples. He was a missionary with Paul—when Paul got upset with John Mark and kicked him off the team, it was Barnabas who took John Mark under his wing and gave him another chance. Must have worked since he wrote the 2nd book of the gospels.

Okay, now for the really important stuff: what's your favorite pie?

    Coconut Cream.

    Favorite T.V. Show?

    M*A*S*H

What do you like to do for fun?

Travel; go to RV shows; Golf

Do you have any favorite authors?

Yes - John C. Maxwell, Lewis Smedes, John D. McDonald

What are some of your favorite words or expressions?

Hmm. That's a good one. Here are some:

    "Thanks"
    "It's Okay"
    "We want you with us"

    Impressive!

    You're a great musician, too.
I'd like you to share about your involvement in a quartet as well as other experiences involving music.

Didn't you have a kids' puppet show in Kenya as well?

    Jim,

Website looks great. I had no idea you led such an exciting life over the years!

I appreciate the meditations, and use portions sometimes to encourage others. I tell them "I got this from Pastor Jim, a friend of mine!"

    Blessings over the top!
